All US Citizens are subject to compliance with the Internal
Revenue Code. It is complex, but we’ll
help you navigate it, and we’ve got a very unique perspective to help you
through.
It has been said that “Those who can’t, teach.” This couldn’t be farther from the truth in
this case. Bringing the mindset of an
academic to consider the accounting theory and countless hours of studying primary
sources of tax law, required for academia, helps us to prepare returns that are
more complete and accurate. Some, even
other CPAs, have accused Thomas of being too anal retentive, but we’ll take that
as a compliment and take those extra steps.
If you want to “be aggressive” on
your return, seriously, don’t waste your time or ours. But feel free to call us later when you
need competent representation when your return is selected by the taxing
authorities for examination.
We may ask a lot of questions and not take what you tell us
at face value. We’re not auditing your
information. But we know the mindset of
the average person, and we know what the tax code says. We’re signing the return, too. So we want it to be right.

People think there are a lot of gray areas in the tax
code. There’s actually not that many,
except for the gray in Thomas’ hair from studying the tax code which has been
expertly colored away by his stylist. There are more black and white areas in the
tax code than people think, thanks to rulings of the Tax Court and Regulations
promulgated by the Internal Revenue Service.
You won’t always like the result. We don’t guarantee that using us will yield
the biggest refund or the lowest balance due.
We want to make something complete, accurate, and beautiful. Again, you’re not the only one signing the
return. Thomas doesn’t get much sleep
between his two jobs and he likes to sleep well at night with the few
hours he actually gets.
But that’s not to say we won’t try to find things to help
you. You may have a duty as an American
to pay taxes, but you don’t have a duty to pay more than you are required under
the law. Our job is to make sure it’s
right, whether that means to your detriment or benefit.
To help us make it toward your benefit, please let us know
throughout the year what’s going on. You
won’t be billed for the occasional phone call.
But you will be billed for the multiple hours we have to spend later trying
to find ways around what you did, which could have been avoided had you made
that call.
We’re not the cheapest.
We’re not the most aggressive.
But we are awesome at what we do.
Unfortunately, we are very selective about the clients we accept and can't take on all interested clients. Our selective screening process allows us to offer the level of service for which we are known within the constraints of our available resources. If we can’t help, we may be able to try to help you find someone who can.
