The Miss South
Carolina Scholarship Organization is hosting the first annual Dancing with the
Palmetto State Stars competition! Twenty
celebrities from around the state have been paired with celebrity dancers, and
will be competing Saturday, June 18th, at 7:00 PM at the Township
Auditorium in Columbia, SC. This competition
is a fundraiser for the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization, hosts of
Miss South Carolina, which is an official preliminary to the Miss America
competition.
Thomas will be
paired with Dabria Aguilar, the reigning Miss South Carolina Teen, who made the
Top 11 and won Best Dance at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen! And yes, this is a fundraiser, but the Miss
South Carolina Scholarship Organization is a very worthy cause. It gives more in scholarship funds than any
other State organization that’s part of Miss America. (To give you an idea, a recent Miss South
Carolina recently graduated from law school with no student debt, mainly due to
all of the scholarship funds she won.) You
can help Thomas reach his fundraising goal of $5,000 by doing any of the
following:
- Anyone
can make donations through the main page at https://miss-sc.org/dancing-with-stars/thomas-spade. Donations are also accepted through the
Central Carolina Community Foundation at https://cccfoundation.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create?funit_id=1605. If you contribute through the Central
Carolina Community Foundation, your gifts will be deductible as charitable
contributions on your individual income tax returns, but you’ll have to note “DWTS”
and “Thomas Spade” in the donation form to ensure Thomas gets credit toward his
fundraising goal, and you’ll have to forward a copy of your receipt to thomas@thomasmspadecpa.com so Thomas
can let them know to give him credit for it.
- Come
to the show on Saturday, June 18th at the Township Auditorium! Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster
at https://www.ticketmaster.com/dancing-with-the-palmetto-state-stars-columbia-south-carolina-06-18-2022/event/2D005C9CDF35A102. If you purchase your tickets through Ticketmaster, please forward a copy of your receipt to thomas@thomasmspadecpa.com so Thomas can let them know to give him credit for it.
- You
can also get preferred seating and other goodies by being a sponsor! There are sponsorship packages still
available. You can find out more about available
sponsorship packages by contacting Morgan Nichols at morgan@miss-sc.org.
- One
thing that’s not included in the sponsorship link is a new program that, for a
minimum of $1,000, you can create your own scholarship. Suppose that you want to support someone who
is pursuing something important to you, like a degree in a certain field, or
going to a certain school, or promoting a certain cause. Chances are great that there is a candidate
competing at Miss South Carolina that’s doing that, you can create a
scholarship to benefit them personally, and that will go toward my fundraising
goal. For more, contact Morgan Nichols
at morgan@miss-sc.org.
Anyway, I would
appreciate any help you can give me toward reaching my goal!
